Prior to arrival, it is recommended to complete the online paperwork. Be as detailed as you can as these details will help us make appropriate recommendations for your conditions. During your initial visit, you will have a consultation with Dr. Carr, where you can explain what brings you in, how long it has been going on and how it happened (sometimes you may not know and that’s okay too).
The details of the mechanism of injury are important in determining the likely diagnosis and differentials. Following the consultation, you will proceed through a region-specific evaluation/exam. These orthopedic tests, in addition to history, help to develop a working diagnosis. X-rays are usually not required for treatment unless the type and mechanism of injury or red flags in the exam process make it necessary to rule in or out bony injuries such as a fracture or other pathology.
Once a determination has been made with regards to the joints, muscles, and nerves involved, appropriate treatments will be discussed and can usually be initiated during the first visit. We understand that not all injuries require extensive care plans with dozens of treatments, and we realize that not every patient will choose chiropractic care as part of his or her ongoing health and wellness routine. We want to help you achieve your goals, whatever they may be.
