CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS

The chiropractic adjustment is a safe, natural, and non-invasive procedure used by the chiropractor to restore and improve health. Learning the art of adjusting is a skill that requires years of study and practice. 

In basic terms, the spinal adjustment or spinal manipulation refers to the process in which the Doctor of Chiropractic skillfully applies controlled force into one or more “subluxated” vertebrae of the spine. The adjustment is also frequently used in the pelvic region to normalize the sacroiliac joints. The adjustment is usually delivered using the hands or using a specialized mechanical tool.

Relief is often felt immediately for many patients however it sometimes takes several sessions to coax vertebrae to remain in their proper positions.

EXTREMITY CARE

Like the joints of the spine, joints in the extremities can also become misaligned and fixated. Chiropractic adjustive techniques can restore and enhance extremity joint function which can increase the life of the joint and keep wear and tear to a minimum. This is of special interest to athletes who generally demand optimal joint performance from highly stressed joints.

Extremity adjusting provides an immediate increase in joint range of motion and supplies the joint with nutrients, as motion is the only way to bring nutrients into the joint cartilage and flush wastes products out.

 

CORRECTIVE EXERCISES

Corrective exercises are techniques that leverage an understanding of anatomy, kinesiology, and biomechanics to address and fix movement compensations and imbalances to improve the overall quality of movement during workouts and in everyday life.

Almost all conditions require some level of strengthening to decrease stress on injured tissue, improve joint control and to make you more durable for the future. No one likes to be suffering from the same conditions over and over and we focus on teaching our patients the right exercises for their condition and progressing them through to complete resolution and a return to activities of daily living.

DECOMPRESSION THERAPY

Decompression treatment gently lengthens and releases the spine through repetitive movements on our revolutionary KDT Spinal Decompression table. It's great therapy for disc herniations and bulges as well as degeneration and stiffness. As the table pulls and releases, a negative pressure change is created within the intervertebral disc, surrounding soft tissue and spinal joints.

Mostly neck (cervical) and lower back (lumbar) but hip and even wrist conditions may benefit. The gentle and repetitive traction cycles help discs improve fluid exchange that is essential to maintaining and improving the health of the tissue.

 

MASSAGE THERAPY

Massage therapy can reduce pain and anxiety for people with chronic illnesses and can help reduce the physiological burden of stress. It can help treat conditions including stress-related tension, fatigue, sleep disorders, high blood pressure, diabetes, low back pain and depression, just to name a few.

Massage therapy has been studied and successfully utilitzed for centuries as a treatment for several types of pain, including low-back pain, neck and shoulder pain, pain from osteoarthritis of the knee, and headaches.
